A St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District employee has died after he was reportedly struck by a crane while working at a construction site near I-44 and Shrewsbury.
A little after 3 a.m., and officials tell KMOX it’s unclear exactly what led to the incident.
Officials say it’s a very sensitive situation and a lot of people are shaken up.
MSD spokesperson Sean Hadley says the worker who was killed was relatively new, only about two weeks on the job and was on third shift. He says they’re working on a wastewater tunnel that goes under the Saint Louis Galleria.
