Be Heard at the Rate Commission Public Hearings

The Rate Commission process includes multiple public hearings where MSD customers will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the rate proposal.

MSD staff presented a rate proposal to its Rate Commission on May 10, 2011.  This proposal would increase customer wastewater rates to help fund more than $1 billion in needed wastewater system investments between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2016. Stormwater rates are not included in this rate proposal, and therefore would not be affected.  In November 2000, area voters approved the creation of an independent Rate Commission that would review proposed rate increases for MSD. The Rate Commission, which consists of 15 member organizations representing a broad cross section of MSD customers and the community, provides public input into how MSD sets its rates.  The Rate Commission process includes multiple public hearings where MSD customers will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the rate proposal. As a MSD customer, you have a right to be heard and voice your opinion on the rate proposal.  These hearings are scheduled for the following times and locations:

  •  August 16: Engineers Club of St. Louis (4359 Lindell Blvd, 63108) from 7:00pm to 9:00pm
  • August 18: Chesterfield City Hall (690 Chesterfield Parkway West, 63017) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
  • August 20: Cliff Cave Library (5430 Telegraph Rd., 63031) from 9:00am to noon
  • August 22: Florissant Valley Library (195 S. NewFlorissant Rd, 63031) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
  • August 24:  Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club (2901 North Grand, 63107) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm
  • September 26: MSD Headquarters (2350 Market Street, 63103) from 9:00am to noon
