Residents shocked by sinkholes appearing on St. Louis roads

The sinkhole, estimated to be about 20 feet deep, was caused by the collapse of a 100-year-old brick sewer, according to the Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD). The collapse led to the ground caving in, revealing what some are calling a glimpse into the city’s underground past.
