Three new members of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) Board of Trustees have been sworn in while two other members were elected Chair and Vice-Chair.
Brian Wahby was appointed to the MSD Board of Trustees by St. Louis City Mayor Lyda Krewson in February. Mr. Wahby was sworn in on February 11, 2021 and his term runs through March 15, 2024. Mr. Wahby is currently the President and CEO of Eximus Productions, an event production company that plans various events across the country. He has previously served as the St. Louis City Democratic Central Committee Chairman for eight years, 7th Ward Committeeman for over two decades and is still serving as Missouri’s Delegate-at-Large to the Democratic National Convention.
Brian Watson and Greg Nicozisn were appointed to the MSD Board of Trustees by St. Louis County Executive Sam Page and were sworn in on March 30, 2021. Mr. Watson’s term runs through March 16, 2026 and is to replace former Trustee Michael Yates. Mr. Nicozisn’s term will expire March 15, 2025 and is to replace former Trustee James Singer, who was serving on an expired term.
Mr. Watson is currently the Business Agent/Recording Secretary for the Laborers’ International Union of North America, Local No. 42. He has expertise in pipe laying, demolition, concrete, removal of hazardous waste and remedial radiation. Mr. Nicozisin is currently a Pipefitter with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 652. He has a degree in HVAC-R from Ranken Technical College, and a three-year apprenticeship in HVAC-R, pipefitting and welding.
At the March 11, 2021 Board meeting the Trustees nominated and voted in Michael Evans as Chair and Amy Fehr as Vice-Chair of the MSD Board of Trustees. Mr. Evans is an attorney with Hartnett Reyes-Hones LLC and focuses on representing labor unions and multiemployer fringe benefit funds. He joined the MSD Board of Trustees in September 2020 and represents St. Louis City. Ms. Fehr is an attorney with Capes, Sokol, Goodman & Sarachan, P.C. She specializes in commercial litigation and business torts, including civil fraud. She joined the MSD Board of Trustees in September 2019 and represents St. Louis County.
Voters in 1954 established a six-member Board of Trustees to be the governing body of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. Three members are appointed by the St. Louis City Mayor and three members are appointed by the St. Louis County Executive. MSD’s Board members are trustees of public property and public funds and are responsible to the customers they serve.
