Diversity Programs & Resources

Connected to Our Communities

At MSD, we are dedicated to creating partnerships and developing workforces that reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. From our scholarship opportunities to our collaborative programs and agreements, our goal is to support and recognize the successes of diverse individuals and businesses in and around St. Louis.

The Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) is a formal agreement between MSD and local organizations to create jobs and develop job training for community residents, produce opportunities for St. Louis-based Minority-owned and Women-owned businesses, and provide an educational enhancement and internship program with local Public schools.

The Building Union Diversity Program (BUD STL) is the St. Louis-based Apprentice Ready Program offered by the Missouri Works Initiative. Originally established under the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA), BUD STL creates an industry-recognized entry point into the trades for traditionally underrepresented groups, creating a more skilled, equitable, and diverse workforce.

MSD and Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville (SIUE) have teamed up to create scholarships for minority and female candidates to enroll in SIUE’s Environmental Resource Training Center (ERTC) Water Quality Control Operations Program. Two (2) academic scholarships are available for eligible applicants.
