MSD crews have finished repairs on a partial sewer collapse that happened last week at Washington and Jefferson Avenues in St. Louis City. Repairs to the sewer were finished on Wednesday. However, restoration of the street and sidewalk in the affected area will take another two weeks. Traffic will not be impacted by the street and sidewalk restoration, as that work will take place off to the side of where the sewer collapsed. The collapsed sewer is about 150 years old. The sewer measures six feet by four feet and is about 20 to 25 feet below ground. The cause of the collapse is unknown.
