Flash flood warning expires for most of St. Louis region; some areas saw six inches of rain

Between 2 and 6 inches of rain had fallen on the region as of about 12:45 p.m. and the weather service expected up to 3 additional inches within the warning area, which stretched from west of Washington to east of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and as far north as St. Charles County and south to Farmington.
