Lightning strike gets blame from MSD for sewer backup in 500-600 St. Louis homes

Sewers backed up into an estimated 500 to 600 homes near the River Des Peres in St. Louis after a lightning strike early Thursday caused a pump station failure, the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District said.
