The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) Board of Trustees has appointed Michael Yates and James Faul as chairman and vice chairman, respectively.
Mr. Yates Yates is the business representative for Operating Engineers Local 148. He is also a past president of the organization. Mr. Yates was also a 27-year employee of Ameren. He joined the MSD Board of Trustees in February 2012 and represents St. Louis County.
Mr. Faul is an associate attorney with Hartnett Gladney Hetterman, L.L.C. (formerly Bartley Goffstein, L.L.C). He practices law in the areas of workers compensation, traditional labor law, and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). He joined the MSD Board of Trustees in April 2013 and represents St. Louis City.
Both Mr. Yates and Mr. Faul will serve as Chairman and Vice Chairman until March 2017.
Voters in 1954 established a six member Board of Trustees to be the governing body of the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. Three members are appointed by the St. Louis City Mayor and three members are appointed by the St. Louis County Executive. MSD’s Board members are trustees of public property and public funds and are responsible to the customers they serve.
