Grand Glaize Wastewater Treatment Plant (Valley Park)
The Meramec River peaked at 6:00 am this morning, approximately 8 inches below the predicted crest of 44.1 feet. The sandbagging wall and internal drainage is in place and working. The Grand Glaize Plant is still pumping and processing all flows through the plant. The anticipated rainfall through Thursday should not change the situation at the Grand Glaize Plant.
Fenton Wastewater Treatment Plant
The current predicted crest this morning should be less than 6 inches over the levee. Sandbagging of the levee and pumping to prevent internal flooding of the plant is proving effective. MSD staff at the Fenton plant is isolated on-site, but well provisioned. We expect access to the Fenton plant will become available within 24 hours. However, the anticipated rainfall through Thursday may extend or slow down the crest at the Fenton Treatment Plant for up to one more day.
Mississippi River and River Des Peres
The Mississippi River is predicted to crest at 40.1 feet this afternoon. We are continuing our normal flood operations staffing the pumping stations along the Mississippi River floodwall and coordinating activities with the City of St. Louis regarding the River Des Peres.
Basement Backup Calls
MSD has received 39 additional basement backup calls since the report posted yesterday—bringing the total to 762. Approximately half of the calls are due to basement backups, but others are caused by overland flooding in the general area. If you suspect you are experiencing a basement backup, not due to overland flooding, please contact Customer Service at (314) 768-6260.
