All lanes of McCausland Avenue, between Southwest Avenue and Arsenal Street, will reopen at 9:00 AM this morning. The contracted crews with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) have completed installing a series of 90-inch storm sewer pipe near the intersection of McCausland Avenue and Southwest Avenue.
MSD crews continued to work through the week and on weekends to complete the project. The construction is a part of an ongoing effort to relieve building backups due to the overcharged combined sewers in the City of St. Louis, Maplewood, and Richmond Heights. This sewer is a part of the River Des Peres sewer system.
