MSD Recognized for Platinum Peak Performances at Missouri River, Fenton, and Lower Meramec Wastewater Treatment Plants
The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) presented The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District (MSD) with three Platinum Peak Performance Awards for the Missouri River, Fenton and Lower Meramec wastewater treatment plants. The Peak Performance Awards recognizes public wastewater treatment facilities for their outstanding compliance records in the 2012 calendar year. The top platinum distinction honors member agency facilities for outstanding 100% compliance over a five year or more consecutive period.
The Missouri River treatment plant attained six consecutive years of 100% compliance. Both the Fenton and Lower Meramec wastewater treatment plants achieved five years of 100% compliance. The Coldwater Creek, Bissell Point, Lemay, and Grand Glaize plants all received Gold Performance Awards for one year 100% compliance.
“Thanks to the hard-working staff at our treatment plants, MSD continues to provide efficient handling of wastewater for the metro St. Louis region,” stated Brian Hoelscher, executive director of The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District. “I’m extremely proud of the accomplishments they achieve on a daily basis to ensure we leave a minimal footprint on our environment.”
“The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District is an outstanding example of environmental efforts,” added Ken Kirk, NACWA’s executive director. “NACWA is honored to showcase the achievements of MSD and our nation’s public wastewater utilities through the Peak Performance Awards Program.”
